In Short: The Hewlett Packard Color LaserJet 8550 series is a bigger version of the 4550. The 8550 prints about 50% faster that the smaller HP color laser. It prints sizes up to 12"x18". Output quality is good overall at 600dpi with HP's Resolution Enhancement. Paper handling is superior with optional lower bin and optional duplexer.
The Bottom Line: A good large format color laser for a shared environment. Not the best or the fastest printer for color accuracy or proofing/design applications. Works well in the Mac OS, UNIX, or the Windows environment.
