In Short: The Minolta-QMS magicolor 6100 Desklaser is basically a stripped down version of the Magicolor 6100 series. The 6100 Desklaser produces acceptable output at 600 dpi for presentation graphics applications. Unlike the standard 6110 series, however, the Desklaser lacks the on board PostScript3 or PCL6 interpreter. This results in the printer being dependant solely on the Windows operating system to drive it. This is a Windows exclusive product. Duplexer and lower paper feeder are available options. Ethernet 10/100Base-T network card is standard but can only be used through Windows.
The Bottom Line: The Minolta-QMS 6100 Desklaser produces output suitable for presentation graphics but from Windows only. This Printer will not work outside the Windows environment. Look at the Minolta-QMS 6110 or Xerox Phaser 7700 if you need accurate, high quality color output.
