In Short: The new Xerox Phaser 7750 is the top performing color laser printer to date. Like most all large-format printers, the Phaser 7750 is big and heavy. Once it is unpacked, setting up the printer is very simple. Xerox ships this printer with all of it’s imaging units pre-installed leaving just the four high-capacity toners to install. The software driver install was even easier due to the very smart software provided by the manufacturer. In a real sense the printer installed itself. The Phaser 7750 combines true 1200x1200 DPI color with the fastest processing and print engine on the market. The result is easily the best looking output available from a four color, dry toner device. Color images printed on the 7750 look rich with depth, and fills look very smooth. Printed line art and even small text looks sharp. The Phaser 7750 piles it on when it comes to performance and paper handling as well. This printer prints at a previously unheard of speed of 35 PPM in color or black & white. The 715 MHz, G4 class processor literally RIPS through even large and complex multi-layered files quickly. The 7750B comes with Adobe PostScript Level 3, 256 MB RAM, USB port, and can print up to 11"x17", 80lb cover stock. The 7750DN also includes a 20 GB HD, 384 MB, auto-duplex, and the ability to handle up to 12” x 18” paper through the MP feeder. The 7750GX configuration adds high capacity feeding, has 512 MB, and PhaserMatch 3.0 software. The 7750DXF configuration adds maximum capacity feeding along with a Finisher for stacking and stapling. The 7750 uses long-life consumables that mean less user intervention and lower long term operating costs.
The Bottom Line: The Xerox Phaser 7750 is a dream machine. The 7750DN is network ready and is beefy enough to handle all the printing needs of a department, color or black and white, with a duty cycle of 150,000 pages per month. The 7750GX is ideal for any graphics intensive application or as a proofing device. All configurations ship with a full set of supplies. The 7750 works very well with the Mac OS, UNIX or the Windows environment. For top performance and overall print quality, the Xerox Phaser 7750 earns our "Editor's Choice" award.
