In Short: The Kyocera-Mita FS-9120DN and FS-9520DN are two Big-Time network laser printers. The single biggest advantage of the Kyocera-Mita printers over all is the "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO). The FS-9120DN and FS-9520DN boast the longest lasting toner of any laser printer with a whopping 40k page rated yield at 5% coverage. By comparison, the HP LaserJet 8150 toner is rated at 20k page yield yet costs significantly more. The real impressive part of these printers, however, is the performance. Both are fast and both come packed with great standard features like Auto-duplexing, Ethernet 10/100 Base TX, PCL6 & PS3emulations, 32MB, and loads of built-in fonts and barcodes. The print quality is very good and paper handling is above average. The printers come standard with two (2) 500 sheet feeders adjustable up to 11" by 17" as well as a 200 sheet multi-purpose tray. Additional paper handling options are available including additional paper input trays and a finisher/ stacker/ stapler/ hole puncher.
The Bottom Line: These two printers deserve consideration for any office or department with a high print volume. At 36PPM and 51PPM respectively, the FS-9120DN and 9520DN can handle the work load of a busy network. Both of these printers will work well in any network environment, Mac, UNIX, DOS or Windows. If you print a lot these printers will pay for themselves quickly. The overall performance is fantastic but the cost per page is music to your wallet. A well earned editors choice.
