Ricoh SP 4100n
|
In Short: The new Ricoh SP4110N and SP4100N are 1200 dpi, monochrome, network-ready laser printers with Adobe PostScript Level3, PCL 5e/6, and PDF modes. They can print on plain paper up to legal size from their 500-sheet drawer and envelopes or heavier stock from their 100-sheet bypass feeder. We found the print quality to be top notch even on minute details and fine line art. The printer handled envelopes better than most printers we have tested. We were also very impressed with the overall speed. The 31PPM and 36PPM speed ratings don’t tell the whole story. A speedy processor, a 19 second warm-up time, and a remarkable 6.9 seconds first-page-out time, combine to make the Ricoh SP4110N and SP4100N two of the top-performing desktop printers we’ve tested. The mono-component toner cartridge and the Ricoh installation software made the printer setup a breeze. The Ricoh SP4110N and SP4100N have 192MB RAM as well as parallel, USB, and Ethernet 10/100 Base TX interfaces. Paper handling options include an additional 500-sheet feed unit, auto-duplex unit, and envelope cassette.
The Bottom Line: The new Ricoh SP4110N and SP4100N are fast and reliable network ready laser printers with great print quality and paper handling. The 15K page yield toner cartridge makes this printer one of the lowest cost per page at 1.2 cents per page. Both versions work well in any network environment including Mac OS, Windows, and UNIX. This printer outshines other printers costing much more.
