Color Laser Printer Review

In Short: The OKI C911dn is the newest ledger size color page printer from OKI and replaces the C9650 series. Like most all 11x17 capable color page printers the C911dn is large and requires at least two people to unpack and set up. OKI provides good documentation so that unpacking and set up was uneventful the way we like it. Setting the printer up on our network also proved to be straight forward. With color print speeds up to 45ppm color and B&W, and 1GHz processor, this printer is no slouch on print speed. The C911dn did well in most of our speed tests and the print quality was good on plain paper. The C911dn produced good color and black text even on heavy card stock. The printer can handle paper up to 12 x 18” and as heavy as 320g/m2 from any tray and it can handle up to 360 g/m2 from the MP tray. The C911dn ships with 1GB RAM and a fast Ethernet. The OKI C911dn also includes auto-duplex and can print two sided even on some card stock. An optional internal 160GB HD is available as well as additional paper feed options.

The Bottom Line: The OKI C911dn is a good performing printer all around. Although it was not at the top of this printer group when it came to print quality and color accuracy, it may be one of the best options available if you need to print on heavy card stock. The high operating cost may also deter volume users. The C911dn configurations work well in any current network environment including Windows, and Mac OS.
